Daniel Johnston has spent the last two decades exposing his heartrending tales of unrequited love, cosmic mishaps, and existential torment to an ever-growing international cult audience. Throughout his career, Daniel's songs and drawings have been informed to some degree by his ongoing struggle with manic depression, lending an added poignancy to his soul-searching. The show, organized and hosted by the delightful clown and performance artist Douglas Grew, features diverse live art presented in cabaret form, in the spirit of American Vaudeville. This month's show will feature: Twang Bang (Chicago's premiere bowery meets tin pan alley meets ragtime band), Dave Buchen (puppeteer and member of Theatre Oobleck) and the return of George Fuller (clown and slack rope walker).
